Aldi is a SNAP authorized store, so it accepts EBT cards, in other words, food stamps, as a method of payment for some food and drinks. EBT holders can pay with this card in store and online when ordering delivery. All of the Aldi stores are members of this program.
How to Pay with EBT in-Store and Online
If you have enough funds on your EBT you are welcome to use it in the Aldi store to buy groceries:
- Drop the groceries from your cart to the checkout line or self-service checkout. Separate SNAP eligible groceries from other groceries, and you'll pay for them any other way - Apple pay, WIC, Credit or debit card, cash.
- Swipe EBT through the POS terminal or hand it to the cashier for scanning.
- Enter the 4-digit pin code and press Enter.
- You will see the amount of purchases on the terminal's screen, if everything is correct press Ok.
To use EBT online you must:
- At the check-out, add payment method - EBT SNAP card, you have to specify:
- First name.
- Last name.
- Card number (19 digits nuber).
- You will see an amount in $ to be charged to EBT SNAP. You can change amount by pressing Edit.
- Then tap Place the order.
Aldis Items You Can Buy with EBT
If you qualify for SNAP and get such benefits as EBT, you should keep in mind that not everything you buy at ALDI can be purchased with EBT. Consider this when making your shopping list. There is a list of SNAP-eligible products, mostly food and soft drinks. Here is a list of some of them:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Meat products, chicken and fish.
- Bread items.
- Cereals.
- Juice, water, soda.
- Cookies, chips, other snacks.
When you shopping online you will see EBT mark near item that is EBT-eligible.
Note! To speed up your check out, better separate the items for which you will pay food stamps from the others. You can use a basket with a special divider for convenience in the store, it will save both yours and the cashier's time.
Here is a list of some products that are not eligible for EBT payment:
- Any alcoholic beverages.
- Cigarettes.
- Vitamins, supplements.
- Cleaning supplies.
- Wipes, toilet paper, personal care products.
- Food for your pets.
